Assessments and Promotion

A system of continuous assessment is followed in all Grades. Pupils should therefore apply themselves regularly throughout the year and not work for control tests or examinations only .The term’s mark will normally include a class mark component based on a variety of class assignments and class tests as well as a standardized control test. Promotion at the end of the year will be based on attendance, continuous assessment in every subject, work done during the year and overall conduct record. Continuous assessments are meant to ensure regularity on the part of the student.

Promotion is based on the whole year’s performance. Normally a student should pass in all subjects. Students of Classes Nursery to VIII will be promoted on the basis of their performance in the continuous evaluation. Students of Class IX to XII are evaluated through a combination of continuous assessments. They must obtain 40% marks or D grade in all subjects to be promoted.
